The Rock Solid EZX features a collection of modern drums perfectly suited for anything from classic rock to modern metal. It was recorded at the renowned Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, Canada by one of the most prolific engineers of the last two decades, Randy Staub. Randy has worked with A-list clients back to back for the past plus 20 years, mixed groundbreaking works like Metallica's "Black Album", Motley Crue's "Dr Feelgood" and honed the sound for artists like Nickelback, Bon Jovi and Alice in Chains. Randy is beyond just an award-winning mix engineer, he's helped define the sound of a generation.

With its three complete kits, the extra snares, bass drums and its large collection of cymbals, it's painfully obvious how the Rock Solid EZX is every bit as leveled, in your face and bold as its title sets it out to be. When you hear the almost unreal sonic qualities in this recording, you will know why there's no understatement in saying that these drums add a new dimension to the word heavy. Drumkit From Hell EZX®

Drumkit From Hell aka DFH® was originally created to address Toontrack® Musics own needs for better and heavier drums in musicproduction. As a result the Toontrack® productionteam decided to record a drumlibrary with the best musicians and producers available in Swedish heavy metal.

Little did they know what they had started. Drumkit From Hell was awarded 5 of 5 in Sound on Sound and an EQ Magazine Exceptional Quality award and launched Toontrack® Music and the DFH® brand in a major way into the sample business enabling the development of the Superior and EZdrummer® samplers. To celebrate and signify the importance of Drumkit From Hell Toontrack® has decided to re-release it as an EZX® expansion pack for EZdrummer®.

The DFH® EZX® contains the essence of what Toontrack® is originally all about. The commitment to excellence through collaboration with the best players and producers aimed at helping you to make better, more inspired music. This version of DFH® includes both the original DFH® release and the Add-On pack that was released subsequently. The sounds for DFH® were played, recorded and produced at Dug Out studios by Tomas Haake, Daniel Bergstrand, Mattias Eklund and Fredrik Thordendal. All sounds have been re-mixed at Toontrack® Studios by Mattias Eklund and weve added custom MIDI files from the diabolically gifted musician and guitar player of Meshuggah, Fredrik Thordendal plus MIDI played by Tomas Haake of Meshuggah, Owe Lingvall of Nocturnal Rites, Mattias Grahn of Naglfar and Efraim Juntunen of Persuader. Metal at its best. Rock on dude.

EZ Drummer Toontrack

EZ Drummer Toontrack - Host

EZdrummer® is a multi-microphone drum sampler designed for musicians and producers in need of a compact, affordable, easy to handle plug-in without compromising sound quality or control. The visualized drums in the interface combine auditioning of sounds and drumkit construction. The extensive drag and drop MIDI library (featuring 8000+ MIDI files) enables users to create a great drum track in just a few clicks. For more advanced handling, users can control microphone bleeding and levels between drums using the internal mixer.

The mixer also allows stereo and multitrack routing into the host through one single plug-in, and thanks to the second generation Toontrack® Percussive Compression (TPC), system requirements are kept to a minimum.

The drums for EZdrummer® were recorded, produced and played with the best in the business. From our pro Superior Drummer® line we’ve adopted the humanizing features that are instrumental in making our drum samplers the pinnacle in digital drum production.

Recording Notes
In 2005 Toontrack® Music was contacted by Pat Thrall with a request to record drums for the Superior Drummer® software engine at the New York studio where Pat had his professional home at the time. We all knew Pats work (with Glenn Hughes, Black Crowes etc) and jumped at the opportunity to work with one of our heroes. Matters weren´t made worse by the fact that Pat introduced another long time hero of ours to add his talents, passion and experience to the recordings, Neil Dorfsman. Neil has been around since the 70s recording and producing artists like, Kiss (oh the stories…), Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, Sting etc. Enough said?

Pat also brought along renowned live and session drummer Nir Z whose credits include such diverse acts as Genesis and Joss Stone to play his GMS drums for the sessions.

The team was finalized with Mattias Eklund and Henrik Kjellberg from Toontrack® Music and together they conducted a number of recordings during 2005. The sounds for EZdrummer® were recorded and produced at Avatar Studios New York (formerly known as Power Station) on the 1st of October 2005 by Pat Thrall, Neil Dorfsman and Nir Z. Needless to say the recordings ended up every bit as great (and better) as expected. The timeless quality of the sound, the consistency of the playing and recording and the legendary atmosphere from a studio that has seen many of the greats create their masterpieces within its walls all make for a worthy start of the next generation of Toontrack® acoustic drum samplers.

WaveLab LE 7 offers a suite of audio editing tools tailored to the needs of musicians, small recording environments and podcast authors. The podcast tool combines basic editing and mastering capabilities with full internet audio publishing features, creating a unique one-stop application for recording, editing right through to online publication via podcast, perfectly suited for Sequel and Cubase users. The sample-accurate 32-bit/96 kHz audio engine in WaveLab LE 7 combines a small set of quality virtual effect processors.

Enter the world of professional audio editing
WaveLab LE 7 not only allows you to edit CD-quality audio material on two tracks, but also enhances recordings, using more than ten plug-ins that include several effects taken from our professional music software, Cubase.
